This Privacy Policy describes how Laqtia ("Laqtia," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Laqtia Volume Pricing Shopify app (the "App"). The App provides partner wholesale volume pricing: when total cart quantity reaches a tier, each product or variant can receive its own dollar price.

This page is the privacy policy for the App listing. It applies when a merchant installs the App on a Shopify store, and when that store's customers check out while the App's discount is active.

Who we are

Laqtia is a foodservice ingredients brand operating the store at https://laqtiausa.com (Shopify store laqtia.myshopify.com).

The App is developed and operated for Laqtia by the store's technical team. For privacy questions about the App, contact us using the details at the end of this policy.

What the App does

The App is a Shopify Discount Function. After a merchant installs it and creates an automatic product discount, Shopify runs the Function at cart and checkout. The Function:

  • Checks whether the customer is a partner (by customer tags such as partner or Partner)
  • Adds up eligible item quantities in the cart
  • Reads volume price tiers from product or variant metafields (custom.volume_tiers)
  • Applies a fixed amount off each line so the unit price matches the unlocked tier

Guests and non-partner customers are not given this discount.

Information we process

The App does not run its own servers to store customer profiles. Shopify hosts the Function and provides the cart and checkout context. In that context the App may process:

  • Cart and checkout data: line items, quantities, variant and product IDs, and current unit prices
  • Catalog data: product and variant metafields used for volume tiers (minimum quantity and unit price)
  • Customer tags: whether the logged-in customer has a partner tag (the App receives a yes/no result, not a full customer profile)
  • Discount settings: App configuration stored as a discount metafield (for example, whether a partner tag is required)
  • Merchant store data: shop domain and discount records needed to install and run the App

The App does not intentionally collect names, email addresses, payment card numbers, or government IDs. Payment is handled by Shopify. If a merchant uses Shopify customer accounts, Shopify may show the customer as logged in so the Function can evaluate partner tags.

How we use information

We use this information only to:

  • Calculate and apply the correct volume price at cart and checkout
  • Limit the discount to approved partner accounts when that setting is on
  • Let the merchant create and manage the automatic discount in Shopify Admin
  • Operate, debug, and improve the App
  • Comply with law or respond to a valid legal request

We do not sell personal information. We do not use App data for advertising networks or unrelated marketing.

Legal bases (where applicable)

If you are in a region that requires a legal basis (such as the EEA or UK), we process App data as needed to provide the App to the merchant (contract), to run checkout pricing (legitimate interests of the merchant and Laqtia), and to meet legal obligations.

Sharing

Information is processed inside Shopify, which provides the store, checkout, and Functions platform. We do not share App data with other third parties for their own purposes.

Retention

The Function does not keep a separate customer database. Cart context exists for the checkout calculation. Discount and metafield configuration stay in the merchant's Shopify store until the merchant deletes them or uninstalls the App.

Security

The Function runs on Shopify's infrastructure. Access to the Shopify admin is controlled by the merchant's staff accounts. We use standard commercial safeguards appropriate to an admin-installed discount app.

Children

The App is for business wholesale ordering. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information, or to object to processing. Store customers should contact the merchant first, because the store owns the customer account. For App-specific questions, contact us below. We may need to verify the request.

If you are a California resident, we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in connection with this App.

International transfers

Shopify may process data in the United States and other countries. If you install or use the App, information may be processed outside your country with safeguards Shopify provides for its platform.

Changes

We may update this policy when the App or the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. Continued use of the App after an update means the new policy applies.
